Cancellation and payment

Lesson time is held for you, and a slot given up late usually cannot be filled. Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the start time and nothing is owed. Inside 24 hours, the full lesson rate applies.

If nobody arrives within 20 minutes of the start time and there has been no contact, the lesson is treated as a no-show and charged in full. Poom waits at the agreed court and will call you before leaving.

Moving a lesson is free with 24 hours notice and there is no limit on how often you can do it. Where the calendar allows, a late cancellation may be moved to another time the same week instead of charged, at Poom's discretion. Genuine emergencies and sudden illness are handled with common sense.

Rain, wet or slick surfaces, lightning in the area, dangerous heat, poor air quality from fire or a court closure all mean the session is moved at no charge. The decision is usually made a few hours ahead so nobody drives out for nothing.

Light drizzle on a fast-drying hard court is often still playable. If you would rather not play in it, say so and the lesson moves free of charge.

Sessions end at the scheduled finish time so the next player is not pushed back. Arrive 20 minutes late to an hour lesson and you get the remaining 40 minutes at the full rate. If Poom is delayed, the lost minutes are added on where the court is free, or credited to your next lesson.

Payment is due at the end of each lesson. Zelle, Venmo and cash are preferred and carry no extra cost.

Card payments run through Stripe and carry an added 3.1% processing fee. On a $125 private lesson that is $3.88, making $128.88 in total.

Court reservation charges, guest fees and club access are the player's responsibility and are paid directly to the facility. Plenty of good public courts in the service areas are free or low cost, and Poom will suggest the nearest one if you would rather avoid a fee.

A weekly or twice-weekly slot is held for you at the same day and time. The 24 hour rule applies to each individual session, so missing one week does not affect the rest of the block.

Tell Poom as early as you can about holidays or tournament travel and the slot is simply paused. Ending a recurring arrangement needs no notice beyond letting him know.

Group rates depend on the number of players sharing the court. If one player cancels late, the session still runs and the remaining players are charged at the rate for the smaller group, or the original per-player rate is kept and the absent player covers their own place. Which one applies is agreed between the players, not by Poom.

A semi-private that drops to one player becomes a private lesson at the private rate unless the missing player's share is covered.
