Terms of service

Submitting the booking form sends a request. A lesson exists only once Poom has replied and the two of you have agreed on a date, a time and a court. Until then nothing is reserved and nothing is owed.

Requests are normally answered the same day within posted hours of Every day, 7am-8pm.

Current rates are published on the pricing page and are quoted per hour unless stated otherwise. A session includes coaching, balls and the use of training equipment. Travel within the listed service areas is included in the rate.

Rates may change over time. The rate agreed when a lesson is booked is the rate charged for that lesson.

Payment is due at the end of each lesson unless another arrangement is agreed in writing beforehand. Zelle, Venmo and cash are preferred.

Card payment through Stripe is available and carries an added 3.1% processing fee, which covers the cost charged by the payment processor.

Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the start time and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours, the lesson is charged in full. The same applies if nobody arrives at the agreed court.

Poom will give as much notice as possible if he has to move a session. A lesson he cancels is rescheduled at no charge, or refunded if it was paid for in advance. Full detail is on the cancellation and payment policy page.

Lessons end at the scheduled time so the next player is not delayed. If you arrive late, the remaining time is used and the full rate still applies. If Poom arrives late, the lost time is added to the session where the court allows, or credited to your next one.

Rain, standing water, lightning, unsafe heat or an unplayable court surface means the session is moved. Weather cancellations are never charged and are rescheduled at the first time that suits you both.

The call is made by Poom on the basis of safety, and it is usually made a few hours ahead rather than at the court.

Poom's Tennis Academy is a mobile service with no fixed facility. It does not own, control, reserve or guarantee access to any tennis court. Courts are agreed with you in advance, and Poom is happy to suggest public courts near you.

Any reservation charge, court fee, guest fee, membership requirement or club rule is the player's responsibility. If a private club or homeowners association requires a coach to be approved or insured before entering, that approval must be in place before the session.

If an agreed court turns out to be occupied or closed, the session moves to the nearest available court where possible, or is rescheduled at no charge.

Lessons take place across the service areas listed on the areas page. Courts outside that range can often still be arranged, and any travel adjustment is agreed with you before the lesson is confirmed. Nothing extra is ever added after a session.

Coaching depends on a safe, respectful court. Poom may end a session without refund if a player or a spectator behaves unsafely, abusively or in a way that breaches the rules of the facility.

Please come with appropriate court shoes, water and clothing you can move in. Playing through pain is discouraged; tell Poom and the session will be adapted.

Tennis and pickleball are physical activities carrying a risk of injury. By taking part you accept those ordinary risks and confirm you are medically fit to play, or that a parent or guardian has confirmed this for a player under 18. See the minors and liability page.

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, Poom's Tennis Academy and Poom are not liable for injury, illness, loss or damage to property arising from participation, except where caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Text, photographs, graphics and design on this site belong to Poom's Tennis Academy and may not be copied or republished without permission. Information on the site is kept accurate but is provided for general guidance rather than as a binding quote.

These terms may be updated as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and the version in force when your lesson is booked is the one that applies to it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County.
