Tennis lessons in Sherman Oaks
Sherman Oaks marks the western boundary of the regular route, and it has more HOA tennis courts than anywhere else on it.
Coaching that travels to Sherman Oaks
A large share of lessons here never touch a public court. The condo complexes along Sepulveda, Woodman and Ventura are full of single courts that sit empty most of the week.
Because it's the far end of the service area, Sherman Oaks days work best when they're grouped with Studio City or Encino-side bookings rather than dropped into the middle of an east-side afternoon.
There is no fixed facility behind Poom's Tennis Academy. You name the court in or near Sherman Oaks and the coaching shows up there, racquets swinging within the first few minutes rather than after a drive across the city.

Courts in Sherman Oaks
Van Nuys–Sherman Oaks Recreation Center
The main public courts for the area, north of Ventura off Magnolia.
Balboa Sports Complex
A larger public facility a short drive west, useful when you want more court options.
If your building or HOA has a court, that's usually the best answer here. The one thing to confirm in advance is whether the association allows an outside coach; a few require written approval or a certificate on file.
Courts listed above are public facilities that players in the area commonly choose. Poom's Tennis Academy is not affiliated with them, and access, reservations and any outside-coaching rules are confirmed with you before a lesson is set.

Best times to play here
Same Valley rules as Studio City: early or late in summer, anytime in the cooler months. HOA courts are often deserted on weekday mornings, which makes them the calmest lesson environment in the whole service area.
Scheduling the west end
Sherman Oaks is the furthest west the schedule regularly goes. Flexibility on the day helps a lot; flexibility on the hour helps even more.
