Not if the timing is right. Early morning and evening sessions are comfortable; midday in August is not, and it's not worth pretending otherwise.

Coming through Laurel Canyon or Cahuenga puts Studio City minutes from the Hollywood side of the route, so it's an easy add to a day that starts in town.

There's a strong mix here of families in the hills south of Ventura and adults in the condo blocks north of it, which makes for two very different bookings on the same street grid.

Best times to play here

Valley heat is the real constraint. From June to September, sessions realistically run before 9am or after 6pm, and a shaded or lit court is worth mentioning when you send your location. October through May, midday here is genuinely great tennis weather.

Over the hill

Laurel Canyon and Cahuenga both jam in the commute windows. A 9am or a 6pm start is far more reliable than trying to thread 5pm traffic in either direction.
